- An assessment of cognitive abilities (IQ or intelligence)
- An assessment of broad and narrow abilities of cognition
- An assessment of an individual’s memory and learning
- An assessment of executive functioning
- An assessment of academic achievement
- An assessment of social, emotional, and/or behavioral functioning
- An assessment of an individual’s development
- Play-based assessments
- A clinical interview with the child, adolescent, adult, or parent
- A classroom observation
- A review of previous psychological or academic records
- A diagnosis of the presenting problems or concerns
